It's good news for individuals who have been considering traveling to Central America to take advantage of its stunning beaches and breathtaking landscapes but has been apprehensive due to the COVID-19 entry requirements. Recent announcements from Costa Rica and Belize indicate that they will be relaxing entry procedures for international tourists this spring.

For travelers arriving in Costa Rica after April 1, the obligation to complete an online Health Pass will be eliminated. Additionally, evidence of immunization and the purchase of travel insurance will no longer be required by the government. This alters the present scenario, in which unvaccinated tourists who are 18 years or older must get travel insurance for a period equal to the length of time they would be in the nation, which is now required.

The new law will also apply to all activities (sports, cultural, and academic) and establishments (nightclubs, bars), which will be able to function at full capacity without the need for immunization QR codes as a result of the exemption.

The COVID-19 test is no longer required for international tourists who arrive in the country with a negative result. They are not required to go through quarantine. The country does not need visitors to get a Costa Rica travel insurance policy if they are completely vaccinated against COVID-19 and are 18 years of age or younger. In addition, all visitors to Costa Rica, whether or whether they are vaccinated, are required to complete the country's Health Pass. It must be completed within 72 hours after arrival in the nation to be considered valid.

In the case of Belize, the country has declared that it will no longer need travelers who have been vaccinated to present a negative COVID-19 test result before entering.

Unvaccinated visitors who arrive in Belize by air must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result obtained 72 hours before arrival or submit a negative Antigen Rapid test obtained within 48 hours of arrival to enter the country.

No matter how much the country relaxes some of its entry requirements, it will continue to require all visitors to apply for Belize Travel Health Insurance, which ensures that travelers' medical and nonmedical expenses are covered in the event that they test positive for COVID-19 while in the country.

Belize Travel Health Insurance is available for purchase for $18 USD. A maximum of $50,000 USD in medical expenses connected to the treatment of COVID-19 is covered under this policy for a period of 21 days.

In conclusion

The world is starting to open back up.  COVID-19 is here to stay and the world is starting to learn how to live with it.  This is a start and more countries will decide what is the best way to deal with this. As far as us travelers are concerned, we will always find a way to travel.
