Iceland's crystal caves have translucent ice ceilings, such that light shines right through the ceiling. This structure is located in Vatnajökull. The size of the Crystal Cave is magnificent, it has a high cavern-like interior that can accommodate 100 people at a time. Its tour takes around 2-3 hours departing from the Jokulsarlon Glacier lagoon. 

This tour is available only in winters i.e. between November to March and will cost you around $161 per person which includes the expenses related to the tour guide and transportation as well. You can book the ticket for this cave through your smartphone and if needed, you can cancel it within 24 hours too. Children of all ages are safe to explore this cave. 

You will be riding a super jeep to reach the glacier. You will be provided with safety gear and national park fees are also included in the package. This package does not include meals. If you are wheelchair-bound then this tour is not for you. 

Secret Ice Cave from Reykjavík

This is a one-day tour that starts from Reykjavík. Your bus will then take you to a small village Vik at the South Coast of Iceland. It will take around 45-60 minutes for you to reach the ice caves from Vik. On your way back, you will get to see the wonderful Skógafoss waterfall.

The tour guide allotted to the group is certified and can speak English efficiently. Around 2 - 12 persons are allotted to one tour guide. The secret cave is available for tours all year round. The duration of the tour is approximately 3 hours and children below the age of 10 years are not permitted to tour the cave. 

This tour will cost you $191 per person which includes pick and drop in a super jeep, helmets & crampons depending on the weather and an experienced tour guide. This tour will include glacier hiking and climbing so your clothes and boots should be warm and ready for the hike. 

The Diamond Ice Cave

The tour to the diamond cake consists of two mind-blowing experiences - one is the diamond cave itself & the other is a ride on Sleipnir which is an 8×8 wheel monster truck. It is specifically designed for riding on the glacier terrain. Your ride will be of around 40-minutes and during that time you will be in the comfort of the skyline windows, leather seats and AC system of the monster truck. 

Along with the transportation via the monster truck, you will also be provided with an expert tour guide, crampons, helmets, etc. The total duration of the tour is 4 - 5 hours available at $161 per person. Children below the age of 8 years are not allowed to visit the diamond cave. You can visit this cave between the months of November to March only. 

The tour to the diamond cave is weather dependent i.e. if the weather conditions are bad, the tour might get canceled or postponed at a short notice. This tour is suitable for all of you if you are in good physical shape. You can carry your lunch or snacks with a water bottle in a backpack if you want. 

Langjokull's Man-made Ice Cave

Langjokull's man-made cave consists of a church and a chapel room. You can reach Langjokull, which is the second-largest glacier in Iceland, through the ice tunnel (man-made). This ice cave can be visited any time of the year. It is a spectacular alternative to the natural glaciers, especially for summer visitors. 

Ice formations are a popular attraction in this man-made ice cave. The guided tour will cost $140 per adult which is inclusive of a certified tour guide, transportation via 8 wheel monster truck, entrance fee to the cave, and free Wi-Fi in the glacier vehicle. Meals are not included in this package. 

This tour is safe & available for people of all age groups. Adults are advised to not drink alcohol before or during the tour, or they can compromise their safety. The duration of this tour is 9 - 10 hours and your pickup point can be Reykjavík /Husafell depending on your hotel.
