ISLANDS OF FUN AND ADVENTURE
Are you looking for a place to spend your next yachting vacation? The Exumas, which are located in the Bahamas, demand your consideration.
SUPERYACHT ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
The sea in the Exumas is one of the reasons you should consider visiting - it is blue and crystal clear - and the activities available are another. From swimming with pigs that swim up to the yacht to jet skiing across open sapphire seas and enjoying fantastic fishing days (twice when your chef prepares and serves your catch of the day), the Exumas' most beautiful features are even more spectacular when viewed from the deck of your own superyacht.
Between Highbourne Cay and Staniel Cay, there's plenty to keep both the kids and the adults in your group occupied, pleased, and talking about their once-in-a-lifetime vacation for years.
Are you ready for more? At Norman Cay, you may go snorkeling around a buried airplane or take a jet ski across the wide water, stopping in the middle of nowhere to cast a line and hope for the best in search of a lucky fishing place to catch dinner.
The Thunderball Grotto is a must-see for every Bond fan who wants to take a quick snorkel into the history of the 007 franchise. A number of scenes from the films Thunderball and Never Say Never, Again (both starring Sean Connery) was filmed at Thunderball Grotto.
CHARTER DESTINATION THAT IS EASY, ACCESSIBLE, AND CONVENIENT
You can fly directly to Nassau from a variety of locations in the United States and Europe to meet your luxury yacht and begin your holiday. Nassau is also home to two great fixed-base operators (FBOs) for private aircraft, making it even easier for you to get to your vacation destination fast.
The chain of the Exumas is only 30 nautical miles away from Nassau. The calm waters of the Exumas ensure that there are no rolling anchorages to bother with, despite the fact that your yacht will almost definitely be equipped with gyrostabilizers to keep it stable in a swell. There will be no rough, beam sea crossings between islands, which means that any member of your group who is anxious about getting seasick may rest assured that they will not.
The distances between islands are never more than a few miles apart, and because the water is clear and shallow, the bottom can be seen throughout the entire journey. Children will enjoy spotting sea life on the move in the Exumas because there are no monotonous stretches of sea crossing in the islands.
In addition, the shallow water makes for excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities, and if that sounds like too much effort, there are other isolated islands and beaches within a short tender ride that require nothing but a towel, wide-brimmed hat, and a good book to complete the experience.
It's not necessary to do much more than pick your own private island for the afternoon and practice making the perfect footprint in the pristine sand when you have all that warm water and miles of beautiful sandy beaches at your disposal.
If that isn't enough excitement for you, you might be interested in spending some time with some of the locals at lunch. Try your hand at lunchtime with some of the friendly 'pet' sharks or observe iguanas as you cruise by on the yacht's open deck.
You should be aware that when you get close to Major's Spot Cay, you may find yourself hosting some unexpected guests at mealtimes. On the island, the tamed pigs aren't the type to turn their noses up at the prospect of a free lunch. They exact a toll from boats visiting their island in the form of snacks, which are flung from the side of the boat, and as you approach the Cay, you can expect to see them swimming towards you for their portion of the treats.
If a vacation without golf sounds like a vacation without vacation, make sure you tell your captain so he can ferry you between outstanding golf courses while you cruise between them in luxury and seclusion.
